Ming
  Hung

In Chinese tradition, “冥婚”(Ming Hun) is used to describe a marriage in which one or both of the parties are dead. People in old days believed that if someone gets engaged but died before getting married, the spirit of he or she would stay in the human world, as there is still something that they want to accomplish. Or simply, bring bad luck to the family.  Therefore, their parents would match them to the other dead or even live people if they are wealthy enough. Although the ceremony of Ming Hun is similar to a traditional Chinese wedding, it varies between different families. Yet, the body of the two parties must be burial together in the same, which would call “合葬”(He Zang)  in Chinese. Ming Hun is ruthless traditions sometimes, as they may use a live person and bury him/her alive.

The environment that I want to create for this project is the place where people hold the Ming Hun ceremony. They usually would hold the ceremony in the hall within their own house.
